Types of Sources:  Books are in-depth, detailed coverage of a topic and background information.   Articles: There are three types of articles:  1.    Scholarly articles: up-to-date and highly specific for scholars and researchers.  2.    Trade publications: targeted towards professionals in a discipline or specific industry 3.    Magazine articles: broad summaries of issues for a general audience.   Newspapers: up-to-date, national and regional information for a general audience.   Internet: good for finding sources like government and non-profit reports.
