Citation managers like Zotero save researchers a large amount of time with citation by helping them keep track of citations and documents. They can even be used to insert references and a bibliography into a document. Zotero is a free, open source citation manager that works well for legal citation. Citation managers are not a substitute for knowing the rules of citation but can save time and energy when citing.
The slides from this November 2023 Library workshop provide a walkthrough about Zotero, including how to install it, how to use it, and customized use for McGill style legal citation.
