Highlights: Inclusive Excellence

Dimensions Program at TMU

TMU was a member of the Pilot Program 2021-2023, led by Dimensions Chair Prof. Art Blake, Faculty of Arts. The Pilot phase of the program involved community consultation with the setting up of faculty and student Townhalls and consultations in each faculty, webinars on perspectives of TMU academic leaders about EDIA and SRC, the setting up of Community of Practices at in various faculties and the creation of resources for the community.

Dimensions at TMU received recognition for Stage 2 Construction from 2023-2028. The Dimensions Chair for the period 2023-2024 is Hyacinth Simpson, Faculty of Arts.

In 2023 TMU Dimensions team was recognized with 5 other institutions across Canada as being in the Construction Stage of the Tri-Agency Dimensions Program. Continuing to develop on the previous work of the pilot stage was part of this ongoing work. As part of this recognition stage the Dimensions Team developed an Action Plan, which is a living document. This stage is also where the plan to develop a Dimensions Portal was also conceptualized. The recognition stage of this program did not come with funding support from NSERC.

This Action Plan highlights 7 Objectives that will be worked towards in a 5 year plan. NSERC discontinued support for Dimensions in Spring 2023, however OVPRI at TMU continues to support this program at TMU.
