CM: Canadian Review of Materials
This online journal began as a print journal published by the Canadian Library Association under the title Canadian Materials (1973-1979)(ISSN: 0317-4654). It began as an annual publication but by 1978 was issued on a quarterly basis. Catalogue records from the Toronto Public Library describe it as "An awareness list for school resource centres of print and nonprint materials" and as "An annotated critical bibliography for Canadian schools and libraries." The Canadian Materials Committee of the Canadians School Library Association was instrumental in the production of this journal. The title changed to  CM: Canadian Materials for Schools and Libraries (v. 8 no. 1 (winter 1980)-v. 14 no. 4 (1986). With vol. 14 no. (Sept 1986)-v. 22/6 (Nov./Dec. 1994) the title and subtitle in use was CM: A Reviewing Journal of Canadian Materials for Young People. (ISSN: 0851-1450). The Canadian Library Association sold the journal to the Manitoba Library Association that began to publish it through the University of Manitoba as an online reviewing journal catalogued with the uniform title CM (Winnipeg, Man. : Online)(Vol. 1, no. 1 (June 16, 1995)- )(ISSN: 1201-9364). It is also known by variant titles: CM Magazine, and, CM: Canadian Review of Materials. The online journal allows for lengthier reviews and includes excerpts from the materials reviewed plus photographs.
