Annotated legislation can be a useful resource for understanding legislation, including how it originated and has been interpreted. Legal publishers typically publish works of annotated legislation in practice areas where a market exists, such as employment, tax, human rights, insurance, business law, and family law.

OMNI contains links to online and print copies of annotated legislation. Try searching for the name of the legislation you are interested in e.g. Canadian Human Rights Act or a search such as annotat* AND (statute or act)

Searching for Annotated Legislation: Lexis and Westlaw

Legal publisher platforms are a good source for annotated legislation. In Lexis navigate to the section called Commentary & Textbooks, and in Westlaw navigate to the section called Texts and Annotations. Try searching by the name of an act or for the term annotated.
