Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL)

STLHE strives to be the pre-eminent national voice, and a world leader, for enhancing teaching and learning in higher education. The Society supports research, its dissemination, increased awareness, and application of research through scholarly teaching and learning.

Educational Development Community in Canada (EDCC) is a practical, scholarly and open community that is a network of people engaged in educational development in a variety of roles and post-secondary contexts.

The International Society for the Scholarship of Teaching & Learning (ISSOTL) serves faculty members, staff, and students who care about teaching and learning as serious intellectual work. The goal of the Society is to foster inquiry and disseminate findings about what improves and articulates post-secondary learning and teaching.

The purpose of the Canadian Society for the Study of Higher Education (CSSHE) to promote scholarship related to postsecondary education through publications and scholarly conferences.

The Professional and Organizational Development (POD) Network in Higher Education is devoted to improving teaching and learning in higher education. Founded in 1976, POD provides its members with personal and academic relationships that are essential for professional growth.

The Council of Ontario Educational Developers (known as COED) brings together educational developers across the higher education sectors in Ontario, and advocates for best practices in teaching, curriculum, graduate student, and instructor development.

Hosted annually by the Centre for Excellence in Learning & Teaching, this one day conference provides TMU faculty, instructors, graduate students, and staff the opportunity to present on their SoTL research.
