Toronto Public Library recently experienced a cybersecurity attack. Library branches remain open but certain services are unavailable. See their website for the timeline to resolution, frequently asked questions, and available services.
The Toronto Public Library (TPL) has 100 library branches throughout the City of Toronto, including two very large reference libraries.
TMU students can receive a Toronto Public Library card at any TPL branch by presenting proof of their student status plus name and address identification. For further details on the identification requirements, see the policies for non-residents who work, go to school, or own property in Toronto. Students do not have to live in Toronto to be eligible for a card.
Having a library card means that you have borrowing privileges at all TPL branches, including electronic resources and e-books. Card holders can also renew resources online and request to have books transferred to the closest library from a distant branch.
Find your closest location by browsing the map below or checking TPL's A-Z list of locations.
The closest TPL branches to TMU are:
The City Hall branch, located inside Toronto City Hall
The Parliament Street branch, located just west of Parliament St on Gerrard St.
The Toronto Reference Library at 789 Yonge Street (Bloor/Yonge subway stop)
The North York Central Library at 5120 Yonge Street, north of Sheppard at the North York Central subway stop.
