ORCID has the same benefits for students as it does for other researchers, however by getting an ORCID iD while completing undergraduate or graduate studies students are able to start building a scholarly presence that can move with them throughout their research career. In other words, they will not have to curate and add to their profile retroactively, but instead all new works will be added to their ORCID profile immediately, reducing the amount of paperwork they have to complete.
